With Carlo Ancelotti having a host of players at his disposal at Real Madrid, it will be interesting to see how he utilizes a massive squad and keeps everybody happy.

The Italian is facing a good type of headache because it is not often that a manager can choose out of two and perhaps even three good players in each position. With that in mind, it must be said that the pressure on him to deliver will also be tremendous as it will be expected that injuries, suspensions and a busy schedule will still leave Ancelotti with a list of options to choose from.

Arguably speaking, Real Madrid are probably selling themselves short ahead of next season only on the right wing position and the goalkeeping position. The out wide forward flank on the right does not have as many good options as the rest of the positions do, whereas Thibaut Courtois is miles ahead of Andriy Lunin, with the latter not even good enough to compete against the Belgian.

With the season just three weeks away, it will be interesting to see how Ancelotti prepares for pre-season and most importantly, what kinds of formations he tries and what player is given what role. Here are the three positional battles which everyone must watch out for.
