With David Alaba the only signing made by Real Madrid so far, and that too as a free agent, it is clear that the club is saving money for a greater objective.
The greater objective may well be Kylian Mbappe and it has been evident that the club will save money to spend on the Frenchman since several months. However, the board’s dream of signing the World Cup winner from Paris Saint-Germain has meant that they are ready to bank only on him or make no signing at all, at least as far as monetary spending is concerned.
While the Ligue 1 giants are hopeful that Mbappe will stay for the season and beyond, the player reportedly has no desire in renewing his contract at the Parc des Princes. In a rational state of transfers, PSG should be selling the player for 120 to 150 million euros this summer or lose him for free next year. Even the world’s richest of clubs would not prefer the latter.
Anyway, as far as Florentino Perez and his board of directors is concerned, it looks like this summer means Mbappe or nothing. However, the club could still consider signing a few free agents who are yet to pen new deals and join newer ventures this summer. Which are three such players Los Merengues could go for?
