TRUSTING THE YOUNG MEMBERS OF THE SQUAD

One of the main reasons why Ancelotti was unable to succeed in his first stint as the Real Madrid boss was because of his lack of trust in using the younger players. The Whites have always had a good group of youth as well, but Ancelotti’s biggest mistake was not using the likes of Casemiro and Lucas Vazquez, for example, and sending them out on loan spells in 2014/15.

In the upcoming campaign, he will have no other option but to give them minutes, but those minutes should also come with his backing and trust- as it will help the younger players in flourishing. The likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes were able to succeed under Zinedine Zidane because of the manager’s warmth and affection, which his replacement must replicate.

Ancelotti will need to up his man-management skills by a notch and keep all the members of his squad happy because the standards at Real Madrid have only grown since his sacking six years ago. Should he manage to trust youngsters and get the best out of them, there is no reason why Ancelotti would not succeed and impress the club’s faithful with fruitful results on the pitch.
