HIS TREATMENT OF LEGENDS HAS BEEN QUESTIONABLE

While Florentino Perez may have prioritized the club over individuals, his treatment of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, and now most recently Sergio Ramos has drawn a lot of criticism with fingers being towards him. While the circumstances were different for each of them, the fans believe Perez to have blood on his hands and more so on the pretext of disrespect to players.

Ronaldo was supposedly not paid a wage which he would have liked to earn after nearly a decade of service to the club, in which he played a more than decent role in winning four Champions League titles. Ramos on the other hand was offered a contract with an expiry date, but in fairness to Perez, the blame could also be put on Rene Ramos, the player’s agent for his misjudgment.

Zinedine Zidane’s farewell letter after resigning from his post as the Real Madrid coach for a second time was further detrimental to the club president’s standing. The Frenchman was critical of the club for leaking information about his potential sacking and also pointed towards a discord between the signings which he wanted and what the club wanted, though he did so very passively.
