Real Madrid: 3 reasons why Florentino Perez is hurting his standing as president

HIS SPORTING PROJECT HAS BEEN FAR FROM SUCCESSFUL
While Real Madrid’s arch rivals in the European setup were signing world-class players, Florentino Perez believed in building a squad surrounding young players who could be signed for reasonable transfer fees. He invested a sizeable portion of the club’s funds in signing players from across the planet, especially from Brazil, and this has produced a very mixed bag of results until this point.
Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes have been his only successful investments whereas the likes of Lucas Silva and Mariano Diaz amongst others have flopped, to say the least. Moreover, Mariano along with his counterpart Jesus Vallejo have long-term deals and big paychecks at Real Madrid, which makes it difficult for the club to sell them as well.
Finally, he has been very erratic in the transfer market since 2014, which is arguably his last “good” window. In 2019, Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic turned out to be too exorbitant by the look of results that they have produced. Although he may be giving the excuse of a pandemic now, it surely has not been existent for seven years, more so when the club has earned huge prize money.
Do you think Perez deserves more time and possibly signing Kylian Mbappe will help the president put his mistakes behind his back?
