DAVID ALABA

Real Madrid’s only signing so far of the summer- David Alaba- is the final entry on the list of untouchable players at the club by Florentino Perez. The president has always held the Austrian in high regard even during his time in Bayern Munich. Los Blancos finally got their hands on Alaba this summer after signing the 29-year-old on a free transfer.

The former Bayern Munich defender is on contract at the Spanish capital until 2026 and is set to earn a handsome figure worth over 115 million euros by the end of his deal.

Let’s set aside the financial details, Alaba has a huge role to play this season under a manager with who he was worked before, Carlo Ancelotti.

While the 29-year-old can play multiple positions, I assume that Ancelotti would use him as Sergio Ramos’ replacement in the defence. David Alaba will also be wearing the number 4 jersey and is the chosen one by the club to lead the backline in the absence of Ramos and Raphael Varane next season.
