Isco

Isco has been a part of Real Madrid for 8 years now. He was bought in 2013 from Malaga due to the impressive performances that saw him win the Golden Boy award of 2012.

Isco was a pillar of the Real Madrid side that won the three-peat of UCLs. He was exceptional, especially in the double-winning 2016/17 season. During this time, he operated in a role of a roaming midfielder in a diamond formation.

Due to his stellar displays, the club awarded him a 5-year contract extension in 2017. Fast forward four years later, Isco finds himself on the fringes of first-team football. The Spaniard experienced a steady depreciation during this period and has been highly inconsistent with his performances. Fitness hasn’t been at his side either, as he has constantly picked up injuries. His £210,000 a week wages mean that not many teams will be willing to give an offer.

There have been reports of Milan wanting Isco as a replacement for Hakan Çalhanoglu. Clubs like Sevilla and other mid-table La Lia clubs also have an outside chance of securing the player.

However, if Isco stays this season, he will presumably leave as a free agent in 2022. Even if Isco shows a resurgence in the coming season, he may not get an extension because of the financial problems the club is facing.
