EDEN HAZARD

Eden Hazard has not only lived up to this contract but he’s failed to live up to the record transfer fee Real Madrid paid to get him on board. Los Blancos broke the bank in the summer of 2019 and signed Hazard for 100 million euros (excluding bonuses and other overhead costs).

The then 29-year-old arrived at the Spanish capital as the most expensive player and was given the legendary number 7. Expectations were set sky-high for Eden who was on the back of his best season at Chelsea in terms of goals and assists.

Two seasons later, Hazard managed to score just a solo goal in his debut season and then picked up another four goals last season. This has been his contribution so far at Real Madrid whilst earning 20 million pounds a year at the Spanish capital.

Eden Hazard’s luck has been bad at Madrid since he’s approximately missed 60 games through injury as opposed to his injury-free life at Chelsea. The upcoming 2021/22 season could well and truly be the 30-year-old’s last shot at the club.

If he fails to deliver, then Florentino Perez will not think twice about offloading Hazard which in reality will be a difficult task due to his wages, age and injury record.
