LUKA JOVIC

The final player on the list, Real Madrid’s 60 million euro signing- Luka Jovic. The Serbian was supposedly considered to be Karim Benzema’s heir after a prolific 2018-19 season- scoring 27 goals in all competitions.

Jovic was a wanted man on the transfer market in 2019, but when Real Madrid came calling it was enough for the Serbian to make up his mind. What he described to be his “dream transfer” during his presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu has somewhat turned out to be a nightmare.

Despite being a signing that Zinedine Zidane asked, Luka Jovic was left out in the cold by the Frenchman. The 23-year-old has himself to blame as well as he has not settled down well in Spain nor has he learnt the language to get along with other teammates.

Real Madrid are open to selling Jovic for the right offer but the player is keen on receiving one more chance to prove his worth. Carlo Ancelotti holds him in high regard and has demanded more from the 23-year-old this season.

Currently, Jovic earns 8.6 million pounds a year at Madrid and is on a contract until 2025. He certainly has not performed according to the standards but he’s young and has time on his side to deliver if Ancelotti shows confidence in him. Only time will tell, whether Luka Jovic was a hit or a miss signing. As of now, it looks like a miss.
