REAL MADRID WILL GET A CHANCE TO DOMINATE DOMESTICALLY

Atletico Madrid are definitely a force to be reckoned with in Spain, but the better odds for winning Copa del Rey and La Liga are in favour of Barcelona and Real Madrid every season. The Catalans will lose a considerable amount of ground in that regard over the upcoming season and that gives Real Madrid to create an impression domestically- something they have not done very recently.

In the last ten years, Los Merengues have won the La Liga crown only three times and have failed to win the Copa del Rey since the 2013/14 season- when Carlo Ancelotti was in his first season at the club in his first tenure. This year presents themselves with a better chance to win the cup as well, and that’s a trophy which most players from the current squad have not won either.

Should they be able to grab an early lead in the season in La Liga and stare at wrapping up the title four or five weeks prior to the season ends, their chances of winning the UEFA Champions League will dramatically increase as well. The Whites will be able to rest key members of the squad towards the business end of the season in such an event and get the best out of all the players.
