Real Madrid hasn’t had the brightest of the transfer windows so far which means the new boss, Carlo Ancelotti may have to do away with a season with make-shift adjustments. However, Real Madrid had one massive signing of David Alaba who joined on a free transfer from FC Bayern, and few returning loanees have added to the bench strength.

The failure of Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid, to say the least, has made Madridistas too conservative to comment upon a player even before they have played well for the club. The case of David Alaba is somewhat similar here. He is a fine player and made quite the statement in his Euro 2020 campaign. But, he only makes it into the list as an honorable mention when compared to the other players who have been crucial for Real Madrid and have proven themselves time and time again. Here are the five best players of the club ranked before the 2021/22 season begins.

5. Casemiro

On number five, we open the list with a player whose importance to Real Madrid has increased substantially in the last couple of seasons. Casemiro has been an absolute key for the Whites in the middle of the park. He’s part of Madrid’s ‘holy trinity’ in midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, which is regarded as one of the most effective midfield combinations in Europe by a lot of pundits.

Casemiro has been piloting the responsibilities of being Real’s first line of defense with utmost watchfulness. He played an astounding 3,731 minutes this past season which is second to only Thibaut Courtois, per WhoScored.com. This just goes on to show how important he is to Real Madrid. Under Carlo Ancelotti, it promises to be more of the same. He is a smart midfielder who is key in winning the ball in great positions higher up the pitch.

His offensive prowess is also undoubtedly important. He was the club’s second-highest scorer last season with seven goals, with a total of 12 goal contributions. All of that is positive to note as we move on to yet another season where Casemiro promises to be a crucial part of the squad. Credited as one of the best defensive midfielders on the planet right now, the Brazilian is sure living up to the standards.
