While Kylian Mbappe is the priority of the summer for Real Madrid at the moment, Los Blancos are keeping a close tab on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has transformed into a global sensation with his goal-scoring instincts and exploits in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

In fact, Real Madrid might cross paths with the 21-year-old next summer when his 75 million euro release clause will be applicable in the transfer market. The club needs a goal-scorer for the future as Karim Benzema has entered the final few years of his career.

Haaland would be the perfect signing to spearhead Real’s attack due to his goal-scoring abilities. Kevin Parvizi has written an in-depth article recently on why signing Haaland next year would be ideal. Meanwhile, in this article, I will provide you with three reasons why the Merengues will be the frontrunners to sign the 21-year-old.

FLORENTINO PEREZ MAINTAINS AN EXCELLENT RELATIONSHIP WITH DORTMUND

Florentino Perez has lately been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. From the formation of the Super League to parting ways with Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane in the same transfer window. Perez’s criticism in recent times can be justified in my opinion.

However, Perez will look to hit back with radical changes in the squad – possibly the signing of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland

Florentino Perez wants to restart the galactico policy and Mbappe and Haaland top the list of targets to sign. The president maintains an excellent relationship with Borussia Dortmund’s board which will play a key role next season if Real Madrid are to sign Erling Haaland, according to reports.

Perez’s cordial relationship with Dortmund’s board along with Haaland’s willingness to play for a team like Real Madrid, all points towards a possible move.
