Real Madrid Transfers: How much it could cost to sign Kylian Mbappe in 2021
Real Madrid got off to a flying start in La Liga after Los Blancos thrashed Deportivo Alaves 1-4 on away soil. Carlo Ancelotti registered his first competitive win since returning to the club for a second time after Karim Benzema struck twice along with a goal each from Nacho and Vinicius Jr.
The front three of Eden Hazard, Benzema, and Gareth Bale was certainly entertaining to watch as their chemistry improved during the game and were a threat to Alaves’ backline all throughout.
Madridistas were treated to some vintage counter-attacking football in Ancelotti’s first official game in charge which was a great sight to see after the kind of football Madrid played under Zinedine Zidane.
While everything seems to be smooth sailing for Real Madrid, the fans still await the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.
How much money do Real Madrid have available to spend on Kylian Mbappe?
According to AS, Real Madrid have funds worth 122 million euros in the bank to be used for Kylian Mbappe’s transfer. The club is currently prioritising the sale of Martin Odegaard who wants to return to Arsenal. Los Blancos have slapped a price tag of 50 million euros on the Norwegian and are expected to close the deal with Arsenal immediately.
The 50 million euros receive from Odegaard’s potential transfer will be used towards signing Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid are readying an offer of around 150 million euros and are expected to make the first step shortly.
While 150 million euros would be used as the transfer fee, Madrid are expected to offer the 22-year-old a minimum salary between 25- 30 million euros to tie him down on a five-year-long deal.
Agent fees, bonuses, commissions, and other overhead expenses could cost another 30 million euros which would round off the total transfer operation at 200 million euros. Real Madrid would have to break the bank to get Mbappe on board this summer or else they could wait until 2022 and sign him for free if he does not renew terms with PSG.
