He would need to reduce his wages significantly in order to facilitate a move from Serie A, which is a league with a friendly tax rule that was created to attract foreign superstars like Ronaldo.

The Portuguese international could not make 30 million euros per year at Real. He would have to take close to half of that in order to make things work. Perhaps Real could squeeze him in at a higher wage, but they are probably not interested in doing so, even at just a one-year commitment.

So we would really see how badly Ronaldo wants to make this move happen. If he is content with riding out his last year in Turin, then he won’t be as willing to lower his asking price.
