Why Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid this season is inevitable
Real Madrid have been talking about not wanting to spend money until the next summer window for quite some time. We as fans got tired of seeing the same old rumors again and again. “Real Madrid want Kylian Mbappe, but PSG won’t sell him, so he’ll arrive next year” was pretty much the talk of the town all summer, and it got really boring. That is, until the rumors started turning into reality.
Kylian Mbappe rejected two huge contract offers, according to sporting director Leonardo Araujo. He has the opportunity here to stay with one of the best and most well-assembled teams in the world, and earn a huge amount of money at the same time. Most players would generally say yes to that offer, because, let’s be honest, who would want to turn down the opportunity to play with the likes of Neymar Jr, Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and so many others? Well, not everyone. Just Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has always had Real Madrid in his plans. He was a big fan of the club growing up. He idolized some of Real Madrid’s best players when he was just a kid. Now, it’s just a kid trying to turn that dream into a reality. It’s not easy, obviously, turning down all that money to move to a team that is in transition. But he has age on his side, and since it’s a project, Real Madrid will work on it and sign more players in the years that follow to turn this team into Champions League contenders once again.
Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid works out well for all parties involved
This potential move makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways. PSG want money, they don’t want to let Mbappe walk for free next season, so the right decision would be to cash in on him right now. Real Madrid on the other hand, could wait for a season to get him for free, but that runs the risk of Mbappe eventually re-signing with PSG. Is it worth taking the risk, after looking at how they missed out on the same player four years ago, or Neymar a while before that? Not at all.
Kylian Mbappe is the centre of Real Madrid’s project, and if there’s a chance to get him now and a risk to wait for him to be available for free, you go with the now.
I mean, let’s be fair to Mbappe here. He rejected two ridiculously elusive offers so that he could join Real Madrid. You owe it to the guy to get him now.
Leonardo Araujo had an interview with RMC Sport on Wednesday. He mentioned a lot of things about the whole Mbappe scenario. It was the first time that someone from PSG admitted that a departure is possible.
There were a lot of things that he mentioned and I just think it proves that a move will happen sooner rather than later. Leonardo said that Mbappe promised he won’t leave PSG for free. Well, he has indicated his desire to leave a year before his contract expires. Now, PSG would have to accept Madrid’s final offer, whatever that may be. If not, well, then he does walk for free, which is what they want to prevent, isn’t it?
Leonardo also talked about why he didn’t like how Real Madrid have moved for Mbappe, how they’ve talked to him, their family, and stuff like that. He mentioned the word “illegal”, which it isn’t. Actually, it’s a bit contradicting considering PSG did the exact same for Neymar a few years ago.
I just think Leonardo and PSG have accepted that they won’t be able to hold on to Mbappe, and if they actually want the money, they’d have to accept the offer, otherwise, they risk losing him for free next season, because Mbappe has refused to accept any contract offer that he gets from the French club.
Leonardo confirmed that PSG have rejected Real Madrid’s first offer, which was around 160 million, and that they’ll let him leave if their conditions are met. They want to pay a fee to Monaco after his sale due to a sell-on clause in the contract, so they want more money. If you want my prediction, I’d say Real Madrid end up with Kylian Mbappe in their squad for around 180 million euros by the end of the week.
Anything can happen, obviously, but it seems like a move to Real Madrid is inevitable for the Frenchman this season. You don’t let a player like that walk away for free, and PSG will accept that, I’m certain.
