The day is finally here! Real Madrid have officially submitted a bid to Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe. The 22-year-old has been linked with Los Blancos for time immemorial and now he’s closer than ever towards completing a move to his dream club.

The Merengues have submitted a reported offer claimed to be 160 million euros for the French forward. Considering that his contract expires in less than a year, Real are willing to break the bank and make Mbappe their record signing surpassing Eden Hazard’s deal from Chelsea in 2019.

While one could certainly argue that 160 million euros is a lot of money for a 22-year-old whose contract expires soon. Kylian Mbappe must be considered an exception because of his ability and he will prove to be worth every penny if Real Madrid closes the deal just before the transfer window closes.

Real Madrid will have to pay more than 160 million to get Mbappe this season

According to AS Andres Onrubia, PSG is willing to accept any proposal that is worth 200 million euros or more for Kylian Mbappe. AS also reports that Paris Saint-Germain were initially surprised by Madrid’s offer worth 160 million euros and are aware that Real Madrid are willing to go all out for Kylian Mbappe.

200 million euros is certainly a huge sum for any club to spend post-pandemic, but Real Madrid supposedly have the funds as PSG believe that they can exceed Neymar’s world-record transfer fee as well to sign Mbappe.

Meanwhile, PSG’s director Leonardo Araujo has not held back on his opinions amid interest Real Madrid’s interest in Mbappe. The sporting director stated, “Kylian Mbappé wants to join Real Madrid and we will not hold him back. We said no to Madrid’s first offer, but if our conditions are met, we’ll see.”

Well, it looks like Paris Saint-Germain have come to terms with reality that Mbappe wants Real Madrid. The French giants certainly would not entertain the idea of letting him leave for free next year and could be forced into selling him immediately for the right price.

Meanwhile, Madrid have played their cards tactically and have put all the pressure on PSG’s timid shoulders by making a late bid. This approach has not been taken well by Leonardo who considers it to be disrespectful in his statement. “Real Madrid have been disrespectful, incorrect, illegal and unacceptable. We’re not accepting €160m. If he wants to go, it will be for our final conditions.”

The sporting director of PSG further proved that they have tried every possible method of convincing Mbappe to renew terms but none have been successful. “We made two important offers to Mbappé: one for the top players in the squad two months ago and one above these players very recently. We want to prove to him that he is an important player, at the center of the project, but not above the project”.

Kylian Mbappe’s heart seems to have set sail for Madrid, he is least bothered by the project that PSG offer with Ramos and Messi etc. He wants to play in white and be the leader of the new era at Real Madrid which looks destined to happen in my opinion.

There are just six days remaining before the transfer window closes, Florentino Perez will have to act quickly and keep the midnight oil burning to secure a deal before deadline day. The pressure is on PSG at the moment who have to decide whether they cash in on or lose a 200 million euro worth player for free next summer.
