To say that Eden Hazard hasn’t had a great time at Real Madrid would be an understatement. He’s spent most of the time on the sidelines, and it hasn’t been what any of the parties expected it to be. Eden Hazard was coming off his best individual season at Chelsea, and Real Madrid were looking to finally spend some money on a Galactico that can help him in many ways.
Of course, injuries, work ethic, and a lot of other things prevented that from happening, and now Hazard is just a shadow of his former self. He had a decent game against Alaves and was quite ineffective against Levante, which was the story in any of the games that he played last season as well.
However, despite all of that, Real Madrid may be able to offload him this season, according to some reports.
Juventus might sign Real Madrid’s Hazard on loan to replace Cristiano Ronaldo
Jose Felix Diaz, one of the most reliable sources when it comes to Real Madrid news, states that Juventus are interested in signing Eden Hazard on loan this season, due to the sudden departure of legendary forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to the report, Eden Hazard is the club’s number one priority to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
It’s definitely a deal Real Madrid should take even though it’s only for a season. That way, Real Madrid get Hazard at least partly off the wage bill, and they would also be able to allocate some of those funds towards the salary of Kylian Mbappe, should the deal be done before the deadline day. That way, Mbappe would also be able to wear his preferred number 7 jersey, since it would be vacated due to Hazard’s departure.
It would also give the Belgian a fresh start. Since Hazard has already recovered from his ankle injuries, it would allow him to start with a clean slate, and do his best in a different jersey. Hazard’s horrid stint at Real Madrid must’ve had a negative impact on his mental state, and it could be a great move for him.
Jose Felix Diaz also says that even though Hazard wants to do well at Madrid, Mbappe’s arrival would complicate his situation even more and he wants to feel important at the club he plays for.
Hazard’s been motivated to make it work at Real Madrid this season. He’s said that he wants to show everyone that he’s still good enough to play for Real Madrid, so it remains to be seen how the story will unfold. The report just says that Juventus are interested in Hazard, it’s yet to be known whether Hazard reciprocates that interest.
Either way, this promises to be a great end to a very interesting summer transfer window.
