Fiorentina needed a quality piece

Fiorentina struggled last season, finishing 13th in Serie A. They recently defeated Torino, but they lost their opener to AS Roma. The Viola are one of the proudest clubs in Italy and are used to playing European football. Many of the best players in Italy have donned the iconic purple kit, such as former striker Luca Toni. But Fiorentina have fallen well below their standard recently.

They could be headed for a rebound in 2021-2022 if it all comes together, though. Holding onto Nikola Milenkovic ahead of interest in the Premier League and within Serie A is a huge deal, and they have added another quality center back in Matija Nastasic of Schalke.

Dusan Vlahovic is legitimately one of the best strikers in Serie A. Veterans like Erick Pulgar, Giacomo Bonaventura, Jose Callejon, and Cristiano Biraghi support an exciting young nucleus that includes new signing Nicolas Gonzalez, Lucas Martinez Quarta, Gaetano Castrovilli, Bartlomiej Dragowski, and the two young stars mentioned above.

Odriozola can be a big upgrade to helping the attack with his speed, dribbling, and crossing. He can take another step with his young teammates at Fiorentina and help the Viola improve significantly year-over-year. And that, in turn, can help him learn to take on responsibility, which is a trait that would impress Ancelotti and Real Madrid in 2022.
