Real Madrid have been saying for months that they won’t sign anyone except David Alaba this season. However, as we know now that wasn’t quite true. They’ve been trying to sign Kylian Mbappe for the last couple of weeks. It doesn’t seem like it’ll happen, but there is a little time left before the window closes, so you never know.

I’m here to talk about the player that has arrived, though. Eduardo Camavinga has signed for Los Blancos. Fabrizio Romano did his trademark “Here We Go” tweet a few hours ago, and Real Madrid made it official shortly after.

Camavinga has undergone his medical at France U21’s training camp, and has already signed a contract with the club.

This is the first signing Real have made that has involved a transfer fee since they signed Reiner Jesus in 2019. The club has not spent a single euro since then, and its fans have only witnessed the departure of a few crucial players, so yes, it feels very good.

I don’t think many people understand how good this deal is for Real. Camavinga is an 18-year-old but his decision making is just so ahead of his age. His game needs some polishing but once he gets there he will definitely be one of the best midfielders in the world.

There’s a reason why so many of the top European clubs were after his signature. But, in the end, he chose Los Blancos, and his dream of joining the club instantly turned into reality.

Camavinga is a box to box midfielder but he can also play as a defensive midfielder. His partnership with Federico Valverde is one for the future, and it feels so good to have them at the club.

Camavinga will join the squad after the international break and is a huge part of Real Madrid’s present and future.
