3. Carlos Casemiro

On number three, we have one of Real Madrid’s most consistent performers in midfield, Carlos Casemiro. His importance to the side has undoubtedly grown in the past couple of seasons. And, Casemiro has been living up to his raised standards in the new season so far. He remained a key contributor to the side in all three games. And, in absence of Real Madrid’s most experienced creative duo of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, his work has been commendable.

Casemiro has been putting in that extra shift in midfield and it is quite visible in his statistics from the first three games. He has a total of three key passes, 22 long balls, and one through ball in LaLiga already, per WhoScored. Defensively, he has been top-notch with 10 tackles and 3 interceptions among other interventions. Casemiro’s reading of the game and distribution has been top-notch so far and he has been the difference in midfield for Los Blancos.

Casemiro had one big impact in terms of goal contributions during the game against Levante, when he had the assist of his life for Vinicius Junior’s first goal of the game and Real Madrid’s second. Casemiro has well and truly been Real Madrid’s trump card in midfield and especially in the absence of his partners in crime. While players like Fede Valverde and Isco have fared average, he has been the one true consistent hard worker and that is why he lands a spot on this list.
