Real Madrid’s last season was nothing less than a rollercoaster ride: A trophy-less season full of uncertainty with injuries increasing problems for the Spanish side. Due to a lack of depth in the squad, players like Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Casemiro, Thibaut Courtois, and Raphael Varane had to play almost every game. Zinedine Zidane was unable to give rest to his most important players.

In such a condition, we saw Zidane bring in Castilla players like Hugo Duro, Miguel Gutierrez, and Antonio Blanco to fill in the empty spaces in the squad.

After Zidane stepped down, Florentino Perez signed Carlo Ancelotti as the new manager. Even though Antonio Pintus is back as the physical trainer, making us believe that he will bring every player back to perfect fitness, we cannot tell what is going to happen.

Real Madrid will try their level best to keep as many players as they can to have proper depth in the squad, but they also need funds for Mbappe’s transfer which will ultimately result in the selling of some players. So, to add some depth, some of the Castilla players might get a chance to feature in the first team.
