2. Chelsea ST Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku made his move from Inter Milan back to Chelsea following the former’s bankruptcy updates whereby the Italian club was looking to sell any of their players given a right bid arrives. And, the London Blues robbed their main man, the lethal Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian arrived on the backdrop of a fantastic season. Inter Milan had won Serie A in 2020/21 and Lukaku was a big reason why. The Belgian ended with 35 goal contributions in the league that included 24 goals and 11 assists, a team-high on both departments.

Inter’s Champions League campaign however was one to forget about. They ended in the fourth position in Group B. Even then, Lukaku managed to find the net four times and remained Inter’s best player with a 7.30 match rating within five appearances per WhoScored. But, now that he is back in London and will be playing for the defending champions, Chelsea, things are bound to be different for the big striker. He’d have a much more realistic chance at winning the title.

On the International end too, Lukaku has done his job well. He scored four goals in the European Championship before his side was knocked out by the eventual winners, Italy in the quarter-final stages of the competition. Overall, Lukaku is a well-rounded striker with all the necessary qualities that a striker must-have. He senses space well and has an edge for headed goals and is especially strong in the air. He’d be one to look out for in the Champions League.
