CM Isco

Isco gets more hate than he should. It’s actually funny watching how fans pick out random videos of Isco not making a certain high-risk pass that nobody else would ever attempt, using this as some sort of damning evidence that he is #actuallybad. Isco is fine. We know who he is and who he isn’t. And he isn’t a midfielder in a flat three-man midfield. If Carlo Ancelotti can work in a formation with Isco as a 10 and a double-pivot behind him, Real will be in a good spot. As we saw in the first half of the match against Levante, the Andalusian still has quality.

Rating: 6.5

DM Casemiro

Casemiro is one of the most consistent players in LaLiga. Quietly, he’s had another strong start to a season, producing classy defending. Robust in the challenge, Case has recorded at least three tackles in each of these three matches and has even helped out offensively, including a delightful assist for Vinicius Junior against Levante that will stand as one of the finest passes of his career.

Rating: 7.0

CM Fede Valverde

After signing a new contract with Real Madrid, Fede Valverde has gone straight to work, busting a lung for the undefeated Merengue club. Valverde had a world-class run and touch past a defender to help Karim Benzema nail his brace in the opening win at the Mendizorroza. Other than that, Valverde has been pretty quiet, but he’s been quietly doing his job.
