Real Madrid has forever been a club dictating the histories of club football in Spain and Europe. Over the century of glorious history, the Royal White club has established itself at the very pinnacle of club football. Though the club’s standing may have come down following a hard couple of seasons and struggling finances, its allure will never wear out. And, that is why many footballers still dream of putting on the Royal White kit and playing for the greatest club in history.

This list consists of five such players who dream of a Real Madrid transfer in their careers. As such, it is important to note few criteria I use whilst ranking this list. Firstly, these are all players whose transfer would make good footballing sense which is why some superstar names may be missing. And, secondly, I also consider the chances of a transfer actually happening. Here are my picks for the top five.

Manchester United CM Paul Pogba

When talked of dreaming about Real Madrid there are only a few who come close to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. Time and again, he has stressed the fact that Real Madrid is his dream club and footballers dream to play for the footballing Royalty as a kid. And, Pogba was surely one of them. It is clear from his quotations over the years that he understands what Real Madrid represents in terms of Club Football.

Paul Pogba can be a great asset to Real Madrid. However, there are certain reasons why he lands up on the bottom spot of this list. Firstly, the recent transfer window saw Manchester United sign players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho. And, to be playing is a star-studded team as such with some of the players he dreamt of playing with can be a huge factor convincing Pogba to extend his stay with the Reds.

Secondly, Pogba is 28 years old, nearing his thirties. And, assuming a move is to be made by next summer, Real Madrid could very well choose to bring in an impressive young player in place of him. There definitely are few barriers between Paul Pogba and his chances of a dream transfer to Real Madrid. However, that doesn’t take away the fact that he is a driving force in midfield and one of the best passers the game has ever seen.

Paul Pogba also makes enough commercial sense for Real Madrid. Especially at a time when the club’s finances aren’t at their best. He is a footballing celebrity who could help the club’s financial armory as well as be a quick fix to Real Madrid’s aging midfield for a couple of years at least. With all that being taken into account, he is the perfect player to kick start this list.
