Vazquez fits into the attacking style that Ancelotti implements at Real Madrid

Out of all other options available at RB, Vazquez provides the most offensive production. Many would argue that the Spaniard commits just too many mistakes in defense. However, considering that Ancelotti has tried to implement an attacking system, Lucas’s attacking contributions should simply cover up for his defensive errors.

We have seen Vazquez playing a lot in the last few seasons. So much so that he even started in key knockout UCL games under Zidane. All this is just to remind you that Vazquez is capable of providing attacking output.

As we have seen in the recent games, Ancelotti likes to use the full width of the pitch. There is always a player out on the flanks to receive a cross-field pass. And this is exactly the position where Vazquez has been playing all these years.

Carlo Ancelotti himself admitted to Lucas’s attacking quality in his recent pre-match interview before the Champions League game against Sheriff. He said:

"If I need a right-back who can also go forward, then Lucas is a better option for that."

Moreover, Lucas has good chemistry with the forward line. He links well with Benzema and co., something that is visible with his one-two touch passing and crossing in the attacking third.
