Who knew this day would come that a 34-year-old Edinson Cavani would be linked with Real Madrid? When I first came across these rumours, I immediately paid no heed knowing that they were nothing but baseless rumours.

While having a veteran striker like Edinson Cavani who has scored tons of goals at different clubs in Europe’s biggest competitions would be great for Real Madrid. There’s still a lot to do before the club could actually even sign him.

Players such as Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic would have to be shown the door before getting Cavani on board. Selling Mariano would be the right call as Carlo Ancelotti does not have him in his plans. But offloading a 23-year-old talented Luka Jovic for a 34-year-old Cavani does not seem like a wise deal for me.
