BORJA MAYORAL- STRIKER

Just a season ago, Borja Mayoral was having the best individual season of his career at AS Roma while on loan from Real Madrid. Mayoral claimed that Zinedine Zidane wanted him to stay at the Spanish capital over Luka Jovic but the Spaniard wanted a more important role and departed for Rome.

He scored 17 goals in all competitions in his debut season with AS Roma but has now fallen down the pecking order under his new manager, Jose Mourinho. Mourinho brought in Tammy Abraham from Chelsea who has been excellent in front of goal, thus limiting Mayoral’s minutes.

The 24-year-old striker is on a contract until 2024 with Real Madrid but faces a bleak future due to the competition at the club. At Roma, the Serie A giants have the option to purchase Borja Mayoral in 2022.

But due to the competition at Roma, Mayoral might consider a move to Newcastle United. He is undoubtedly a talented striker and given Callum Wilson’s injury record, the Magpies could do with a clinical striker like Mayoral who would also come at an affordable price tag. He also has a pretty impressive CV after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid and playing an important role for Roma last season.
