Real Madrid Transfers: Another promising defender is open to a move
Real Madrid are always in the hunt for new talents to make their squad better for the present and the future. There are a bunch of players that they’re already in negotiations with, the biggest name out of them being Kylian Mbappe, who may join the club on a free transfer next season. There’s nothing confirmed yet, but there is a definite chance that he joins.
Obviously, he’s not the only one that’s being considered. There are players needed in many positions so that Real Madrid are able to solidify their stance once again as one of the best teams in the world once the old guard is gone.
One of those players is Pedro Porro. He’s a right-back that is currently playing for Sporting CP. According to Mario Cortegana, Pedro Porro would be delighted to play for Los Blancos. Real Madrid are definitely looking at him, and are definitely interested, but there is nothing concrete yet. Fabrizio Romano said earlier that Real Madrid are not interested in any right-backs, but this could simply be the case of keeping tabs on a player.
There were talks about Pedro Porro’s grandfather saying that he would never play for Real Madrid, but the player cleared that up officially on his Instagram earlier on Tuesday.
Real Madrid should definitely look at Pedro Porro more closely
Real Madrid’s current full-back situation isn’t great. Their starting full-back, Dani Carvajal has become very, very injury prone as of late, and the back-ups just aren’t good enough. This has been a topic of discussion in previous articles, but that’s something Real Madrid’s higher-ups need to look at if they want to build a competitive side for the future.
If Dani Carvajal is going to keep getting injured like this, they need a solid back-up option, one that is young enough to have an impact and become a potential starter in the future as well as the present. And in that regard, Pedro Porro checks all the boxes.
He obviously needs to improve a lot in some areas, but the talent is there, the ceiling is high and Real would be glad if they went for him.
In seven league games this season, Porro has already scored two goals and assisted one as a full-back. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s a good enough return from a full-back in terms of goals scored, at least.
If Real get more and more interested in the player, they should try to get the deal done at an affordable price. Some of the investments they made in young players haven’t gone their way, so this time around, they should try to get it done at an affordable fee. And if they do, then the club would have a full-back that has the potential to become one of the best in the world when his time comes. We already know that the player is open to joining the club, so at least there would be no problems in that regard.
