Tuttosport’s Golden Boy Award is one of the most prestigious honors given out to young players in European football. Real Madrid have been assembling a squad of top young talent, so they have consistently seen their players make it to the final cut of players. And the 2021 version of the award is no different for Los Blancos.

The list of 20 finalists was released, and both right winger Rodrygo Goes and new center midfielder Eduardo Camavinga made the cut, making it another year with multiple Real Madrid youngsters who have a shot at winning the Golden Boy.

How much of a chance do they have? To be honest, they are not going to win this award. Rodrygo has played well for Real and is clutch, as we saw in the Champions League win over Inter Milan, but he does not play enough.

Camavinga is the next great midfielder and has taken well to life in Madrid, scoring on his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu and brilliantly assisting that aforementioned Rodrygo matchwinner in the Champions League. That said, it still does not seem like he is ready to be a starting midfielder for Los Merengues.

Real Madrid should watch these Bundesliga players who made the list

Elsewhere on the list, rival players Pedri and Gavi made the list from Barcelona. Pedri seems to be the big-time favorite to win the award after a fabulous Euros. He is vital to La Blaugrana.

Real Madrid fans will also notice a number of key transfer targets or players to watch in the future. Karim David-Adeyemi is off to a sensational start in the Austrian Bundesliga for RB Salzburg, and he could make an Erling Haaland-esque jump to Borussia Dortmund soon. Leipzig, of course, is a possibility, too.

Los Blancos should also monitor current Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, though he could be headed back to England. Ryan Gravenberch of Ajax is yet another top midfield target to monitor. The same goes for Jamal Musiala, who would be an unachievable dream target, as he is entrenched as the star of the future in Bavaria.

Finally, two more attacking midfielders in the Bundesliga of interest to Real Madrid made the list. Dortmund’s Gio Reyna is the most talented player produced by the United States to date, while Florian Wirtz has been one of the top three players in the entire league so far this season.
