ANTONIO RUDIGER – CHELSEA

Antonio Rudiger has already been considered as a potential signing for next summer. The Germany international is yet to ink a new deal at Chelsea with his current contract expiring at the end of the 2021-22 season. Rudiger reportedly wants an improved contract by making him the highest-paid player at the club something that Marina Granovskaia isn’t keen on offering.

Real Madrid are only interested in signing Rudiger if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. So far, it looks like Antonio Rudiger would become a free agent despite how important a player he is in Thomas Tuchel’s set-up mainly due to the conflicting demands over a renewal.

Would Antonio Rudiger be a good fit for Real Madrid and should they persuade him next season? Well to answer that question, I’ve written an article in the past which you should consider reading. In short, my answer remains the same which is a yes.

Given the current set of defenders at the club, Los Blancos desperately require more manpower in the centre-back position. Nacho Fernandez lacks the quality to be a regular starter and Eder Militao could do with some healthy competition from a competitive player like Rudiger who has a strong mentality.
