It’s a well-known fact by now that Real Madrid are in contention to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window. The former’s transfer to the Spanish capital looks inevitable after his attempt to leave PSG this year was blocked by the club.

Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he can legally begin negotiations with Real Madrid in January over a transfer at the end of the season. However, for the latter, it’s tough to say where he would be heading next year due to the huge list of interested suitors that want to sign him.

Haaland’s release clause worth 75 million euros has reportedly been increased to 90 million euros by Borussia Dortmund. His new release clause is still considered to be a bargain in today’s inflated transfer market. The Norwegian international has 13 goals in 10 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund so far and he’s just getting warmed up.

While Haaland’s focus remains on the pitch, the 21-year-old will soon need to start thinking about his future with time ticking away. At the moment, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are the interested clubs in signing the striker.

Erling Haaland prefers Real Madrid

According to Marco Ruiz of AS, Erling Haaland has reportedly told his agent Mino Raiola that he prefers Real Madrid over Paris Saint-Germain. Haaland’s preference for Madrid over PSG does not come as a surprise given the way the French club have acted and treated Kylian Mbappe ( A player of similar status) during the past few months.

The report also mentions that both Raiola and Haaland are not interested in negotiating a deal with Barcelona (despite the cordial relationship Raiola shares with Joan Laporta). This is simply because of the current crisis that Barcelona faces and Haaland certainly would not want to be part of the show.

At the moment the tide seems to have turned towards Real Madrid and Los Blancos could possibly be in the driver’s seat to snatch Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe’s signature next summer. A frontline of Vinicius Jr, Haaland, and Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu would be one to cherish for years.
