Karim Benzema is having a prolific 2021 and has joined Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah, and Lionel Messi as a Ballon d’Or candidate. After carrying Real Madrid for a better part of a year, Benzema now has a true partner in the attack in Vinicius Junior, who has been just as vital as Benz to start the 2021-2022 campaign. But Los Blancos need a third man to complete their trio. There is no doubt that Kylian Mbappe is the man for the job.

Mbappe has been their dream transfer target for years, and Benzema has made it no secret that he wants to play with his fellow French international. The two have been incredible lately, winning the UEFA Nations League and helping France lock in a qualifying spot for the 2022 World Cup.

The best player in Ligue 1 is at the top of Real’s list, and he’s probably at the top of Benzema’s, too. However, he is not the only star player whom Benzema would love to play with at Real Madrid in the 2022-2023 season and beyond.

According to a report from MARCA’s Pablo Polo, Karim Benzema has a “very good relationship” with another French national teammate, Paul Pogba, who will be targeted by Real Madrid in the 2022 transfer window as a free agent. Pogba could be signed on a pre-contract agreement this winter or for free next summer. (Pogba may wait in his negotiations with Manchester United, especially given the uncertainty surrounding the current manager and future direction of the stagnating Premier League giants.)

Karim Benzema wants to play with Paul Pogba at the club level

Benzema, per MARCA, would also like to play with Pogba at the Santiago Bernabeu, in addition to uniting forces with Kylian Mbappe in the attack.

None of this information comes as any surprise to Madridistas, who have seen the good rapport Benzema has with Pogba, in addition to the well-publicized friendship with the man who will one day be Real’s No. 7.

Signing Pogba is not without risk due to the player’s age, injury history, and expected wages as a free agent. But as we saw in the Euros and at times with United this season, Pogba is an incredible player. He could finally fulfill his potential as the best midfielder in the world at Real Madrid, though, surely, his future teammates would have something to say about that designation.

Being at Real could push Pogba to be the best version of himself. We all know the kinds of ingenious passes he is capable of making. There are very few players capable of finding a killer pass better than Pogba’s, especially from deep. It’s no wonder why Benzema – or any other forward, for that matter – would want to be his teammate.

Let’s see if Agent Karim’s pull can help Real score both Mbappe and Pogba, two of the biggest stars in world football, in the same transfer window.
