RB Alvaro Odriozola

Alvaro Odriozola was one of the most promising fullbacks in Spain, but the ex-Real Sociedad man’s reputation took a huge hit these past two seasons. The 25-year-old was downright horrible in some matches last season, failing to make the most basic of defensive interventions and sacrificing too much stability at the expense of his charges up the pitch, which were rarely effective anyway.

Still, Odriozola has potential, and he has shown that potential with Fiorentina. Odriozola is playing better football in 2021-2022, but the consistency is still honestly lacking. He has only started a little over half of his matches at Fiorentina, so if he cannot be a regular starter there, who is to say he can make it at Real Madrid?

Los Blancos will hope Odriozola can lock in a spot at Fiorentina, because, at this point, they will be looking elsewhere at right back. That said, Odriozola stands a good chance at finishing strong this season and carving out a bigger role. He just has to keep fighting.

FW Brahim Diaz

We will stay in Serie A to discuss a more promising and impressive player in Brahim Diaz. The Milan man has a legitimate chance of making it to the Real Madrid first team one day, as difficult as that seems to be. If Kylian Mbappe signs and Real do add another star forward with him, there will probably be no space for Brahim. Rodrygo Goes would already be fighting hard to maintain a key spot in the rotation.

Even so, Brahim has shown while at Milan that he has the quality. And Madridistas remember being impressed with his limited appearances in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 before these two seasons on loan in Serie A.

So far this season, the Spanish youth international has three goals and one assist in Serie A and one goal and one assist in the Champions League. Those are solid numbers, and the two-footed Brahim does a lot more of the little things than current first-team player Marco Asensio.
