Real Madrid vs Inter Milan – 7 December 2021

Because this match found itself sandwiched in between two massive games for Real Madrid, a victory in their last UEFA Champions League game was an absolute must. Real Madrid will go into this match at the top of their group with Inter Milan two points behind them. That means that with a draw or a win, Los Blancos will officially claim the top spot. Rotations are vital on the night.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean that Real Madrid shouldn’t play to win, they definitely should. However, they can’t risk the fitness of their key players on this night and will probably expect Inter Milan to feel the same way.

There is also the possibility that the Italian club will come to the Santiago Bernabeu knowing that Real Madrid will rest players and take the chance to name a strong side and claim top spot. In any case, it is not worth risking the players.

Before this game, Real Madrid take on Real Sociedad and only a few days after, they will be going up against Atletico Madrid. Victories against both of those clubs are a lot more important than a victory against Inter. It will be surprising if Carlo Ancelotti decides not to rest players on this night and it could prove to be a massive mistake if he goes down that road.

Predicted Score: Real Madrid 2-2 Inter Milan
