Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid – 12 December 2021

Real Madrid’s fifteen-day streak of five matches ends against their city rivals, Atletico Madrid. This is a team that is probably the best team in the league on paper but on the pitch, they haven’t yet found the correct formula to turn their strengths into wins.

Right now, they find themselves in fourth place and a lot of their points are courtesy of last-minute goals. Does that mean that Real Madrid can expect a win on the night? No.

When all is said and done, this is a derby and a very fierce one. What better way to prove that you have what it takes to make it to the top than by beating your closest rivals? Diego Simeone is a manager who knows Real Madrid extremely well and he will do everything in his power to ensure that his side gets the three points on the night.

Carlo Ancelotti will focus on the strengths of the squad and he’ll hope that by resting many of them in the previous match against Inter Milan, the team will have what it takes to get the win and keep themselves on top of La Liga if all matches before this one go as planned.

Predicted Score: Real Madrid 3-1 Atletico Madrid

It will be a very difficult run of games but if it’s played right by Ancelotti, it could be games that will keep Real Madrid at the top quite comfortably while ensuring that the hard part has passed, even though they will need to stay focused for the matches after that as well.
