DM Carlos Casemiro

Carlos Casemiro has been a little off this season and we saw that in full flow against Sevilla. The Brazilian has struggled but he has also been integral to the setup of the team. When he’s at his best, no one can get past him but his main issue has been with the distribution of the ball. He has what it takes, which we all know already, but he will be needed against Athletic Bilbao who will try to make runs through the middle whenever they get a chance to.

CM Eduardo Camavinga

Luka Modric needs rest, there is no doubt about that anymore. Eduardo Camavinga replaced him during the game on Sunday and once again, the French midfielder was able to show maturity beyond his years. As a youngster, he needs minutes and he has been getting them sporadically but this is a great chance to give him time on the pitch. He already has the trust of the fans and coaching staff, all he has to do now is continue to repay that trust with good performances.

CM Toni Kroos

The importance of Toni Kroos in the Real Madrid lineup has not gone unnoticed and on a night where there will be quite a few changes, his presence will be even more vital than usual. Under normal circumstances, it would be safe to say that the German should be rested but at the moment, it’s between who needs more rest with him and Modric, to which the answer is the Croatian right now.
