Anything is possible in the Champions League, and it’s the most successful club in Europe we’re talking about

16 out of 32 teams qualify for the knockout stages from the group stages, and from there any team will have to play a minimum of two games to a maximum of seven games. To a new football fan, it might seem simple, as the team has to win seven matches to win the Champions League title. But it is not as simple as it seems, and anything can happen in the Champions League.

Having a team filled with stars and big-money signings isn’t enough to win the Champions League. Being a better team isn’t enough, a team has to be the better team on the pitch to win the Champions League. The teams must show tenacity and character on the field, to get through to the final of the biggest club competition in Europe. And once a team enters the Quarterfinals, the trophy might actually be at a touching distance for some of the top clubs.

This is where anything is possible. There will be teams who will look to attack the opponent’s goal every time they have the ball at their feet, while there will also be teams who will defend for their lives for the majority of the 90 minutes and wait for their opportunity. Each team will have their own mantra to win the game or save the game, but the team that executes its plans perfectly and has the mental strength to cross the finish line successfully would win the game.

This is where Real Madrid’s DNA comes into play. Real Madrid’s DNA isn’t about a brand of football or philosophy, it’s all about having the mentality to win and win at all costs. This elite mentality has made Real Madrid win the competition for a record 13 times. There is a reason why the fans in the Bernabeu love those Tuesday and Wednesday nights with the UCL anthem being played at full volume. They know it is a competition that provides a platform for their club to entertain and satisfy each and every fan.
