Imagine how scary Real Madrid will be with Kylian Mbappe

If you follow the NBA, you’d know how good the Warriors are at the moment. They’re playing some amazing basketball, and they’re without Klay Thompson, one of their best players who hasn’t played in two years because of injury. This has a point and is related to Real Madrid, I promise.

Anyway, Klay had a recent interview where he was talking about his recovery and how excited he is to return. He talked about the Warriors, and mentioned how they’re playing at an incredible level, and he’s not even out there yet. Imagine what happens once he returns. That’s kind of like with Real Madrid at the moment.

They’re playing at an incredible level, winning so many games in a row, and the player that is supposed to change everything for the better if (when) he arrives next season – Kylian Mbappe – isn’t even there, yet. As Klay said, “think about that. Really think about that.”

Real Madrid played very well against Atletico Madrid. They were more clinical than their city rivals, and usually had things under control after a sort of rocky start to the game. Yes, Atletico took more shots, but that doesn’t matter a whole lot when the shots weren’t good enough to get past a God like Thibaut Courtois.

Real took their chances and scored, and comfortably got the victory over a team that has been struggling with form, playing style and injuries this season, falling 13 points behind Real.

Real Madrid would be unbeatable with Mbappe accompanying Benzema and Vinicius Jr

All this is happening when the third spot of their attacking trio is still “owned” by no one. It’s still not decided who gets that spot. Yes, Marco Asensio has been performing well recently, but like I said here, it doesn’t matter much until he keeps doing this for a long stretch of games.

Rodrygo and Gareth Bale are the two other options for the season, the latter is struggling to get fit and is probably not going to stay once his contract ends at the end of this season. Rodrygo – as good as he is and can be – still needs to find ways to be consistent and productive on the right – which is his weaker side.

Of course, this only matters until Kylian Mbappe forms a dominant trio with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. Benzema and Vini are already the most devastating, prolific duo in world football right now, and there’s no one that comes close at the moment. Imagine what happens when an offensive, goalscoring juggernaut in Kylian Mbappe joins them. This trio would easily become the best in the world, or at least will have the potential to, and the best part is, the other two players are already doing incredible stuff.

Oh, and have you looked at the rest of the team? The midfield still keeps doing wonderful things, the centre-back partnership of Alaba and Militao continues to reach unbelievable heights, and the full-backs are doing a great job as well. This transfer, along with a couple of other moves, is going to make Real Madrid the favorites to win the Champions League yet again, and will continue to do so for years to come.

I simply cannot wait for Mbappe to join next season, as it gets more and more likely each passing day. It’ll also be fun to see how the crowd reacts to every single one of his touches when PSG visit the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of their Round-of-16 clash.

Real would have to rely on their two offensive superstars to make a difference in the attacking third, as they try to stop the devastating trio – at least on paper – of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr. There are ways Real can win, but we’ll get into that soon. Time and place for everything, ladies and gentlemen.
