What is the latest news on Kylian Mbappe’s Real Madrid future? Could Eden Hazard leave Los Blancos before the 2022-2023 season? And has there been any movement on the Erling Haaland front? Here are the biggest recent news items surrounding Los Merengues, as well as some brief analysis on what each of these items means for the club going forward.

Dortmund CEO on Erling Haaland to Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said two notable things in a recent interview with BILD Live, via Sport1.

The first was not surprising. Watzke, who has close relations with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, stated that Los Blancos have clear interest in Erling Haaland. So if there were any doubts before, the cat is fully out of the bag now.

He also stated that he would be proud if Haaland were to win the Champions League with Madrid in the future, making it seem like it would be his preference for the Norwegian star to join the LaLiga giants in the future.

In the background, it seems like Watzke is still angling to keep Haaland, even if he knows the ambitious No. 9 will go elsewhere. It all likely comes down to Manchester City and the Merengue club, but as Watzke’s positive remarks about Real indicate, the Royal White club’s reputation precedes itself.
