No news is good news regarding Kylian Mbappe

L’Equipe filed their latest report on Kylian Mbappe’s contract situation at PSG. Via Spanish journalist Andres Onrubia Ramos, who has been one of the most important reporters covering the Mbappe transfer saga over the past year, the major French outlet reports that there is still no progress regarding a possible renewal with PSG.

The reasons are even more interesting, because the news itself that there is no renewal progress is the status quo that has existed for about a year. L’Equipe states that one of the issues is instability within the PSG locker room.

Mbappe wants Real Madrid, and while PSG have not given up on a renewal, the chances of him staying are extremely unlikely. They are, of course, not impossible, and PSG fans will be holding out hope for a Champions League Round of 16 triumph over Real that serves as a final means of convincing the Paris-born superstar to stay in Ligue 1.

Madridistas will hold their breath until Mbappe is officially unveiled as the next big superstar at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer. Even leaks, reports, or an official announcement won’t allow fans peace, as many were already swindled by reports this past summer that Mbappe to Madrid was a done deal.

So to wrap up. Mbappe is not any closer to staying at PSG. Madrid fans don’t need to worry. PSG probably need a miracle to convince the left forward to stay. As much as the Qatar-owned club had hoped signing Lionel Messi would get Mbappe to re-sign, the reality is that he doesn’t seem overly impressed with the squad.
