PSG’s dysfunctional state giving Kylian Mbappe another reason to want Real Madrid
Real Madrid are waiting to finally get Mbappe into their squad next season. The only possible obstacle between their union would be PSG somehow convincing the Frenchman to sign a contract, which I really don’t see happening for a few reasons. Well, of course, there’s the whole thing about PSG not letting Mbappe leave even after he put in an official request for a transfer. There’s also a lot that has been said by the higher-ups at PSG after the whole debacle that made Mbappe think about whether PSG is the right team for him.
There’s a lot of other stuff that has been talked about before as well. But, in a recent article by L’Equipe, translated via Jeremy Smith, there’s a lot that we found out about the way things are going at PSG this season. It is not official of course, it is a report, but the things that have been highlighted in the report only gives us more reasons why Mbappe would not like to continue at PSG beyond this season.
Kylian Mbappe would love the way things go at Real Madrid as compared to PSG
According to the report, Pochettino was never asked before the signing of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma, and the huge egos in the dressing room don’t make it better, either. I think there are egos in the Madrid dressing room as well, but there’s a lot more unity, a lot more team building and a lot more competence in the ways all the egos are managed at Real Madrid.
Speaking of unity, there’s not a lot of it that can be found at PSG. The players tend to stay with the ones they’re the closest to in pre-match warm-ups. Messi and Neymar stay together, Mbappe and Hakimi stay together. People speaking in French stay together in rondos, you get the idea. In fact, according to this report, Sergio Ramos was very surprised when he found out that communal meals are not mandatory at PSG.
There’s a lot of stuff involving Icardi, a lot of stuff about neither Leonardo nor Pochettino trying to manage the egos, about a lack of dedication from some players, lack of commitment from the other, about how stars run the team. There’s a lot more that has been said, and I’d suggest you read it, and after that, I don’t think you’d be surprised to see why players like Xavi Simons are rumored to leave PSG. If you don’t know about the dysfunctionality of PSG, well, you would after going through this thread.
All of this just tells us what we need to know about Mbappe’s state of mind. He clearly wants to join a club that is well run and is a lot more competent in decision making. A club that knows how to manage the egos of players while also building a better team than PSG. Honestly, I don’t think a team of superstars is great as a team, it’s more about the players being great individually. That’s what PSG will need to figure out before they face Real Madrid because a fully-fit Real Madrid could cause PSG problems if they manage to contain the French team’s attacks.
According to reports, Mbappe will make his decision after the two games against Real Madrid but I genuinely think that after all this, adding the fact that Mbappe gave a public interview regarding the things that happened during the summer, along with the constant hints he’s been giving about a potential move to Real Madrid, it’s only a matter of time now.
