Real Madrid suffered their third loss of the season last time out against neighbors, Getafe. They played miserably in the absence of Vinicius Junior. They were ineffective in attack and defensively, vulnerable. A gift of a goal in the first half remained the difference between the two teams at the final whistle.

Up next, Real Madrid needs to face their nightmare from last season. Real Madrid will once again face Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey in the Round of 32. They were eliminated by this very team last season and this time, Los Blancos would be eyeing revenge.

As such, an array of rotations are expected from Carlo Ancelotti as they take on Alcoyano next away from home in mid-week. Hence, several players who would be taking the pitch for the Royal White club would have their own points to prove.

Here, I shortlist the top five who would have a great opportunity at their hands.

5. EDEN HAZARD

Yes, I expect Eden Hazard to start on his favorite left flank in this game. Hazard has lately been making into all the wrong lists, including this one. An elite player like him wasn’t meant for a career as such in the Spanish Capital. But, as things are for the Belgian, a move away from Madrid seems to be his next career action. This game could be his chance to start his redemption story and leave Real Madrid without the failure tag hung onto his name.

Marco Asensio was nightmarish against Getafe and Rodrygo Goes couldn’t capitalize on his opportunity on the left. That makes me feel that Ancelotti will look to change the setup and give Hazard his chance on the left. The chances are further elevated after Hazard impressed on the left against Getafe after coming on for Marco Asensio in the second half. Let’s hope the Belgian makes the most out of this opportunity, lately, it feels like I have been saying that a lot for Hazard.
