2022 is a huge year for Real Madrid with a lot of transfer activities impending as well as the club set to send several players to the World Cup in Qatar in the winter months. Besides that, the rebuilt Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is also set to reopen and it is surely set to be a property to envy for the Whites’ rivals as it will yield finances from more than one dimension.

And although the year may have begun with a deserved loss at Getafe last weekend, there is still a lot at stake for the remainder of the season, let alone what comes of next season. What are three predictions for Los Merengues for the New Year?

REAL MADRID WILL SIGN BOTH MBAPPE AND HAALAND

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have both been closely linked with the Whites. Mbappe’s signing now seems like only a matter of time, whereas Haaland is also preferring a move to Real Madrid and playing alongside Mbappe does not seem to bother him. Barcelona are also competitors for his services in Spain, but it is hard to imagine them getting him this summer.

Despite Joan Laporta’s ecstatic words, the fact is that Barca have a shortage of funds and won’t even be able to register Ferran Torres to the squad this month. The deadwood like Samuel Umtiti and Philippe Coutinho among others is still stuck at Camp Nou and so, Haaland’s transfer which will include massive agency fees to Mino Raiola and the player’s father may be beyond them.

Manchester City are currently thought to be the only Premier League outfit seriously considering the prospect of signing Haaland this summer, but their Spanish rivals already seem to be head and shoulders ahead in the running to sign him. Real Madrid have a sporting project and the finances to sign both Mbappe and Haaland and that is exactly what is predicted to happen this summer.
