ONE OR MORE REAL MADRID PLAYERS WILL WIN THE WORLD CUP

France are the defending world champions and beyond any reasonable doubt, they will be the leading candidates to defend their goldware in Qatar next winter. While the previous few FIFA World Cup winners have been knocked out in the group stage itself, they had a debilitated squad in the forthcoming edition which is not the case with the French, who have moved from strength to strength since their triumph in Russia three and a half years ago.

With France the favourites to win the World Cup, one would like to think that a few Madrid players will form a part of the group which brings home gold medals. Karim Benzema is assured of a call-up given his form, as would Mbappe assuming that he is a Madrid player by the year’s end. Ferland Mendy, who is yet to play a major tournament for his nation could be called up as well. But on the flip side, Real’s Brazilian players also have a big chance to go all the way in the Middle East.

If Los Blancos have a few players in their roster who win the Champions League, it automatically raises their chance of winning the Ballon d’Or and more so if they win anything with the club in the ongoing season. It should be noted that the Whites are leading La Liga and serious contenders for it, and are also being regarded as one of the top candidates to lift the Champions League in May at St. Petersburg as a result of their form in the first half of the season.
