3. Benoit Badiashile

If pecking order and playing time are major issues to consider in signing a Center-back, then I think I have a perfect solution. The recent signings of players like Eder Militao or more recently Eduardo Camavinga are testaments of the fact that Real Madrid is exploring the world of prospects. And judging by how some of these signings have resulted for Los Blancos, why shouldn’t they?

AS Monaco’s 20-year-old center-back Benoit Badiashile may be the youngest player on this list but his numbers this season are better than any other player on this list. The best thing is that he fits into Real Madrid’s scheme of signing prospects and helping them to their breakout points in their careers. Eder Militao being the finest example, I even think the Brazilian can become the world’s best CB in the seasons to come.

Badiashile is a similar prospect. He would happily accept a backup role at Real Madrid and to be fair, that is exactly what Real Madrid needs right now. If someone celebrated as Antonio Rudiger joins, it directly means Eder Militao’s minutes could be affected. Or there could be a change in the system to a 3 center-back formation. Honestly, Real would end up with three starter quality players.

Madridistas have already seen the decline of Fede Valverde’s level of performance. A major reason is his game time in competing with the GOAT three of Midfield. And, we simply cannot risk putting Militao through a similar phase. The best thing would be to sign a quality backup and Badiashile fits the bill perfectly. This season alone, he is averaging 1.8 in tackles, 1.5 in interceptions, 3.1 in clearances, and 3.3 in longballs, per WhoScored. And, he has arguably performed better on the European stage than in Ligue 1. That’s Real Madrid’s perfect backup center-back if you’d ask me.
