Crazy rumours are a part of transfer windows, and we usually even get to read rumours that link Real Madrid’s players to Barcelona and vice versa. But from now, there won’t be any scope for such rumours as Real Madrid and Barcelona have verbally agreed to a non-aggression pact, according to MARCA.

As per the pact, no club would interfere with the contract renewals of a player from the other club and thereby lure him into signing for them. This pact has been agreed to just ensure that there won’t be any chaos and to ensure that the Presidents maintain their friendly relationship, which is indeed necessary for their collective aim of establishing the European Super League (ESL).

This report comes at a time when Barcelona is having trouble dealing with the contract renewal of Ousmane Dembele, a player who can be on the list of many European clubs, including Real Madrid. It also comes at a time when there have been some rumours linking Ronald Araujo to Real Madrid. The rumours would’ve never been true because it is very difficult to imagine such a situation, and even Perez himself had to deny those rumours.

This non-aggression pact does avoid a situation of one club signing a player from the other club, but there is always a minimal possibility of such a situation arising.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will still battle over stars in the transfer market

Maybe it is the evergreen memory of Florentino Perez signing Luis Figo from Barcelona that makes way for such rumours, but it is very difficult to imagine such a situation now, especially when you consider the history between the clubs and the sense of animosity between the fans. This pact has nothing to do with common transfer targets for both clubs.

And for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, the battle is not about stealing each other’s players now. Now their main objective is to secure the signature of Erling Braut Haaland, the generational talent who has been strongly linked to Spain’s biggest football clubs in the past two years. According to MARCA, it is going to be the next big battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Real Madrid have been reported to be the more likely team to sign Haaland, but Barcelona President Joan Laporta has taken this as a huge challenge, and he knows that Real Madrid can become unstoppable with the signing of the Norwegian. According to reports, he could do everything possible to sign Haaland.

Another player who has been on the wish list of both the clubs is the 15-year-old Endrick Felipe, who has been the latest Brazil teenage sensation. The Brazilian has been scouted by a lot of European clubs, and he might become a part of another transfer battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona, as he is touted to be a generational talent.
