3. Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard was supposed to be the next  Galactico. Three seasons, 61 games, six goals, and innumerable injuries later he is a candidate for the worst signing ever in Real Madrid history.

Hazard has failed to create even an iota of impact during his stint at the club. He has spent more days nursing his injuries than helping Real Madrid win titles. The man who mesmerized fans on the field with exquisite skills and dribbling is oblivious. He has fallen in the pecking order with Vinicius Jr. dispersing him as the starter at left wing.

He has fallen out of favor with the coach, bosses, and the fans alike. His situation at the club reached its nadir when he was caught laughing with his Chelsea mates after Real Madrid was eliminated in the 2021 Champions League Semi-finals. This saga infuriated fans to the point that they demanded his immediate departure from the club.

His future at the club is not secured. Mbappe’s arrival could prove to be the final nail in the coffin for Hazard as Real Madrid would prefer to let go of his extravagant  £400,000 per week contract. Hazard’s dream move has turned into a nightmare for Real Madrid. We are into the business end of the 2021-22 season. Hazard may have a final shot at redemption. Will he be able to resurrect his Real Madrid career or will he face the ax next season?
