This time he’s in the news for something different though.
In a Twitch stream with Ibai Llanos, he was asked by a fan about what he would do if he was Erling Haaland.
And Pique didn’t miss out on an opportunity to give ‘advice’ to Haaland, saying “If I were Haaland and I wanted to win the Ballon d’Or, I wouldn’t go to the same team as Mbappe.”
It is an open secret that Erling Haaland might leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, and Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two main clubs looking to sign the Norwegian.
Both the clubs might fight it out for Haaland, and that fight may involve a lot of tactics. Pique’s advice might look like a fair one, but it is just one of those ‘tactics’.

It is this fear, that has made Gerard Pique say these words. It is not advice, but just another sleazy advice. It is a tactic to convey that Barcelona can make Haaland win the Ballon d’Or.
A top player might want to win a Ballon D’or someday or the other in his life. But before that, they want to win trophies, for which they have to move to top clubs that can give him a winning team, and not a Europa league playing club. Maybe Pique has forgotten the basic thing that you need to win trophies if you want to win the Ballon d’Or.

By saying that Haaland shouldn’t go to a club with Kylian Mbappe, it is just a form of disrespect to the Norwegian striker.
