Paul Pogba seems to be begging for Real Madrid, but he shouldn’t

Paul Pogba hasn’t enjoyed his life at Manchester United, as he has failed to leave his mark at the English club, though he is in his sixth season at the club after his big-money transfer in 2016. His contract is expiring this summer, and he is expected to leave as a free agent, with both sides showing no interest in renewal.

According to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, Paris Saint-Germain and Pogba’s former club Juventus seem to be showing interest in signing the Frenchman, but the midfielder wants to move to Real Madrid. It actually seems like Pogba’s desperate to move to Los Blancos.

Every year we get to see the Pogba to Real Madrid rumours, particularly when Zinedine Zidane, a fan of Pogba’s profile, was the manager of the club. And Pogba had publicly mentioned that it is his dream to play for Real Madrid, so the rumours were legit to some extent.

But there was never any form of advanced talks, and his dream remained a dream. Now Pogba does have the opportunity to move to Madrid though, and he does look desperate for the move, as he has also conveyed the same to his current employers, as per MARCA.

It is good to see Pogba’s desire to play for Real Madrid, but he shouldn’t beg for a move to the Merengues

Paul Pogba is an extremely talented player, and players like him do deserve to play for top clubs. But Real Madrid shouldn’t look to sign the Frenchman, and it is high time that Pogba stops thinking about Real Madrid.

Pogba is a great midfielder, but he will turn 29 next month and he won’t be a long-term prospect for the club. He would want to be a starter at this age, but in all honesty, he can never start over the legendary duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. As Mino Raiola is his agent, he wouldn’t settle for lower wages, and even if he’s okay with a second-choice role, the club would never agree with Raiola’s high demands.

And at this point, the club can’t go against their transfer policy by signing Pogba. The club is building a team for the future, by signing young and talented players. Youngsters are being groomed at the club, with the hope of them taking over the responsibility from the old guard in the future. Currently, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are being groomed for the future and if the club signs Pogba at this time, it would definitely hurt their progress.

It looks like even the club is thinking the same and are not showing any interest in signing the Frenchman. Even Pogba should realise that if Real wanted him, they would’ve contacted Raiola a long while ago. It is time he accepts reality and takes the right decision for his future.
