Real Madrid are psyched up for their upcoming Champions League collision with Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 stage of the tournament but there’s a lot more at stake than a football match of 90 minutes. Los Blancos do not only travel to Paris for the game but to make arrangements for a bigger purpose and apparently, the club’s higher-ups are very well equipped to make the ends meet.

On one side there is Kylian Mbappe who dreams of playing for Real and has been, in all his power, pushing for a move to the Spanish club since last season and to face him, there is Paris Saint Germain who will do anything and everything to make Mbappe stick with them, contrary to what they promised to the Frenchman the day he signed.

In this fuss, apart from being the main party in question, Real Madrid will also act as a catalyst to stir an outcome as soon as possible – preferably in their favour.

Earlier this month, media outlet Bild made an astronomical claim that Real Madrid and Mbappe have already agreed on the player’s transfer this summer which was, however, eventually countered by Spanish journalists close to the club as a false report conveying that despite the player’s inclination, nothing has been decided yet.

Real Madrid and PSG are playing a game of chess, Kylian Mbappe being the prize

Ever since the previous summer window, Madrid and PSG have been in a cold war-like situation where the two clubs publicly condemned the other’s actions and behaviour.

The French club’s sporting director Leonardo denounced Florentino Perez’s offer for Mbappe and said:

"” A Real Madrid player [Karim Benzema], then the Real Madrid coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and now the president [Florentino Perez] talk about Kylian as if he was already one of their own. I repeat: this is a lack of respect that we cannot tolerate.”"

Per the words of MARCA journalist Jose Felix Diaz, representatives of the two clubs have now agreed to sit and discuss the state of affairs. These representatives are none other than the presidents of the two sides – Florentino Perez and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Before the big UCL game at Parc des Princes, the two men have decided to meet and have dinner, which is also the Champions League protocol, in one of the world’s best restaurants situated in Paris. Felix Diaz claims that Mbappe will be the main topic of discussion as the presidents aim to clear the air about the player’s future.

It is a big question whether the formal and civil dinner between the two parties will ease the route for Mbappe to travel to Real Madrid or is it going to end up in another knot making the case all the more complicated.
